Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. He was a noted cross country runner, for Halifax Harriers, but had moved to Baildon, married Mary and was working as an attendant at an asylum, when he enlisted. He was killed by shellfire and is also commemorated on IWM 2593.
