Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. He worked as a Fettler before enlisting in October 1915 and died of shrapnel wounds on the second day of the Somme. A memorial service was held for him in the Ebenezer Chapel on 16th July 1916 and he is also commemorated on IWM 2620.
