Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He enlisted in October 1914 and was one of the many of the regiment and the area who were lost in the failed attack on the Schwaben Redoubt on 3rd September 1916. Like many of them, he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial and is also commemorated on IWM 2689.
