Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. A twisting overlooker for a spinning company, he enlisted in October 1917 and was drowned on his first voyage when his ship, the Lady Cory Wright, was attacked by a U Boat in the Channel. He is also commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
