Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, to Edith, and they had had six children. He worked in a mill before he enlisted in May 1918. He was not found by them to be commemorated on any other Calderdale Memorial but is on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial. His age was given as both 36 and 37 in the press at the time.
