Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Originally from Skelton, he was not married but, as an ex-Reservist with 7 years' service, he was called up in August 1914. He died after being gassed on Hill 60: his brother-in-law also died in WW1. His date of death was given as both the 12th and 13th of May 1915 and this was the only Calderdale memorial they found hui named on.
