Hornshaw and Fowler (see References) provide the extra detail and also found him listed on IWM 2224, 596 and 2642. His parents lived in Portsmouth and he had been a regular soldier but also worked as a weaver before being called up. Collins' work (see References) says he died of wounds: Hornshaw and Fowler say he either 19 or 20 and was killed in action. Both agree his service number, date of death and burial place.
