N.B. The combined wording of the plinth and freestanding panel's inscriptions imply that all 57 named airmen died on the date the stated crash-date. However, some are known to have instead either died of their injuries on a later date, or died elsewhere in a different crash. i.e the crash-date was therefore not necessarily the date of death
