Hornshaw and Fowler (see References) provide his service and death details. They state he was married, to Jane Ellen, and worked in a cotton manufacturing firm until he enlisted in May 1916. He was wounded once before he then died from a second wound, this time in his leg, whilst in hospital. He is also listed on IWM 596 and 2642.
