Hornshaw and Fowler provide the few extra details. They discovered he had been living in Nelson in Lancashire when he enlisted, hence the regiment and, given this and that they also found that Fred also hailed from Nelson and served in the same regiment, they assumed his brother is also commemorated on this memorial.
