Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was an apprentice at a druggist before he enlisted. He was in France from July 1917, was gassed in March 1918 and returned to his unit only 2 weeks before he was killed. is also commemorated on IWM 2830 and 2631 (his school memorial in Rishworth).
