Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was the son of an architect, educated at Heath School in Halifax, a member of West End golf club and worked in the wool trade in Bradford before the war. He joined the Chesires with 7 friends, most of whom were commissioned but also killed. He is also commemorated on IWM 2689, 2591 and 29395.
