Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. Widely commemorated in Calderdale (they found him on no less than 7 memorials) he was married, with a child and worked as a solicitor's articled clerk in Halifax. He was also a member of both the Masonic and Bowling clubs in Lightcliffe. He died of sepsis from a gunshot wound in his thigh and is buried in Luddenden Foot where his parents lived. He was not an apparent relation to the other 2 Lumbs on this memorial according to their research.
