Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked first for WH Smith and then in the Anchor Pit signal cabin before he enlisted in June 1915. Despite being under-age, he was deployed to France in the September and died 6 months later. The press says he attended Rastrick Grammar, but he is not listed on their memorial (IWM 2671): he is also commemorated on IWM 2738 and 2747.
