Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. He worked for a worsted spinner before enlisting in November 1915. He was killed attacking a German strongpoint during the 3rd Battle of Ypres and is also commemorated on IWM 2738 as well as the Tyne Cot Memorial.
