Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Widely commemorated around Halifax, he was married to a Maggie Crowther from Shelf and was an organist but worked as a Chief Designer in Bradford. He enlisted into the4 Bradford Pals in September 1914 and won his MM for Gallantry and Devotion to duty. Commissioned in 1917 he is also commemorated on the Ploegsteert memorial and is buried in the village.
