The memorial has the incorrect forename initial. The following information was supplied by the school in 2024: 'Born Kington [in 1885]. Probably son of Harriet, widow, 27 Castle Hill in 1911. There are four sons: Geoffrey [also listed on this memorial] born 1889, Henry Arthur 1882, Jesse and Leonard Gilbert 1888. Jesse cannot be traced in 1911 census. 1901 Grocer's apprentice. Noted as I. Gregory on LHS record.'
