The following information was supplied by the school in 2024: 'Holiday Hall. November 1914 commissioned at old rank of Captain acting adjutant, Carmarthenshire Reg, Welsh Army Corps at Rhyl. Pre-war was manager of Metropolitan Bank at Llandrindod Wells. Father is Thomas Grafton Sprague, Bank Manager of 1 High Street Kington. Captain Welsh AC. Badge 26/9/16 (probably Silver badge). Kington Times reports February 1917 that he has been given rank of Honorary Captain. In 1917, recorded as living at Prospect View, Julian Road, Ludlow. (There is a record of a Thomas Anthony Grafton Sprague serving as a chindit in WW2 - is this a son?)
