The following information was supplied by the school in 2024: 'Noted by LHS Dec 1914. Sergeant. Son of Charles, deceased in 1911, mother, Esther, widowed and keeps lodging house at 6 Duke Street. Recorded on census in 1911 as soldier. Born Kington [in 1887]. Address in 1901 is 44 Duke Street, his father was a mason. Richard in 1901 was recorded as an under-valet, domestic.'
