The following information was supplied by the school in 2024: 'B Kington [in 1898]. 1911 [living at] 4 Bridge Street. Father a coachbuilder. Noted in Kington Times October 1918 that he joined Civil Service Rifles in early 1916. Commissioned in Somerset Light Infantry early in 1917, made Captain Spring 1918 when still serving in France. Awarded Military Cross.'
