The following information was supplied by the school in 2024: 'B Shrewsbury. The Beeches - father, Walter Charles, is Manager of quarry, but may be a civil engineer as also noted in 1901 in Wrexham as Railway Contractor. 1911 Guy was working as a clerk at ORTC. Enlisted 7/8/14 at Hereford. Appears to have failed medical on 18/8/14 after 12 days in service, but transferred to Army Service Corps, 11th Division, Training. Possible MSM as CQMS. Volunteer for reserve battalion. October 1914, noted in the Kington Times, that F.G. Chambers, a clerk, has left as a volunteer for foreign service in the ASC, to go to Northampton for training under Lieutenant H. Gwynne Jones. Noted by LHS Dec 1914. Possibly served in France. Corporal in August 1915. Army service number 74/173442.'
