All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He came from Sheffield and was at the School from 1924 until 1930, the son of Arthur William and Rachel Taylor of Wadsley Lane, and the husband of Annie Vera Taylor.
He reached the rank of Major (No 294777) in the Royal Engineers, and died on Wednesday 26th March
In 1947 – i.e. two years after the war ended – aged34. His grave is in Layton Cemetery, Section J,
