All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: '- He came from Birmingham, the son of John and Maud C Riddell of Clifton Drive, attending the School from 1932 until 1936. He became a Sergeant in the RAF (No 655722) and served with No 58 Squadron flying Halifax II aircraft on maritime duties out of St David’s base in Wales. He died on 2nd May 1944, and as with other RAF personnel with no known grave, he is listed on the Runnymede Memorial in Surrey.'
