All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He lived on Talbot Road with his parents, Arthur and Clara Blackburn, originally from Ruislip. He was at the School from 1933 until 1939, leaving to become a clerk in a cemetery office. He joined 607 Squadron, flying Hurricane IICs out of Jessore in the Far East, and reached the rank of Flight Sergeant (No 1127552). He was killed on 7th December 1942, aged 20, and is listed as being buried in Taukkyan War Cemetery in Burma.'
