Notes
All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He went to Baines School and then to the Grammar School from 1934 until 1939, the son of Percy and Florence May Woodward of George Avenue. He worked as a junior clerk before joining the RAF, becoming a Pilot Officer (Air Bomber) (No 139846). There is no record of the Squadron In which he served, but he died on Wednesday 21st April 1943, aged just 20, and possibly in a flying accident over the UK because he is buried in Carleton Cemetery, Section B, Grave 229.'
