Notes
All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He came from a Kirkham School, and attended the Grammar School from 1915 until 1917. School records show that he left to join the “RN Air Service” and rose to the rank of Group Captain with No 230 Squadron in the RAF. This is a famous maritime squadron, but no record can be found concerning the action that claimed his life on Sunday 25th October 1942, aged 43. He is shown as being buried in Torquay Cemetery, and his name appears on the war memorial in St Annes.'
