All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He too came from Waterloo Junior School, and was at the Grammar School from 1923 until 1931. He was the son of Robert Norman and Ada Verdon of Mere Road. He reached the rank of Lieutenant (No 258841) in No 54 Field Company of the Royal Engineers, and died on Wednesday 1st November 1941, aged 32. He lies in Kirkree War Cemetery in India.'
