All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He came from Wigan and was at the school from 1932 until 1935. He was the son of Albert Lofthouse and Elisabeth Hannah Grimshaw, and the husband of Sheila Mabel Grimshaw. He obtained a B.Sc at Loughborough College, and was a Flight Lieutenant (No 108606) in the RAFVR,
when he died on Tuesday 22nd August 1944, aged 27. He is buried at Carleton Cemetery, Section B, and Grave number 1483.'
