All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He was Guardsman (No 2657309) in the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards. He went to Claremont School, and attended the Grammar School from 1928 until 1933. He was the son of Joshua Harrop of Carshalton Road, and worked as a butcher’s assistant on leaving school. He died on Friday 11th August 1944 and lies in St Charles De Percy War Cemetery, Calvados, France.'
