All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He attended Waterloo Primary School and was at the Grammar School from 1934 until 1939. He was the son of John and Hannah Firth of Romney Avenue. He was Trooper (No 7963486) in the 17th/21st Lancers of the Royal Armoured Corps, and died on Saturday 24th February 1945, aged 22, and is buried in Florence War Cemetery, Italy.'
