All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He was the husband of Elizabeth Crabtree and attended the School from 1924 to 1930. He was Trooper (No 79132070 in the 41ST (Oldham) Royal Tank Regiment of the Royal Armoured Corps, and died on Saturday 25th July 1942, aged 30. His grave is in the Tel El Kebir War Memorial Cemetery in Egypt.'
