Hornshaw and Fowler (See References) provide the extra details. Originally from Keighley, he was married, with a son, and enlisted in November 1914. The press (who spelt his surname differently) said that he was shot by a sniper whilst on sentry duty within 2 weeks of arriving at the front. He is also listed on IWM 2689.
