WOOD. - On Feb. 22, as the result of an accident, Richard Edgar, aged 40, dearly loved husband of Violet Kathleen (née Holburd) and dear daddy of Michael and Teddy. - We shall always miss him.

Sad News for a Ventnor Woman
Soldier Husband Killed in Scotland
Mrs. Wood, of 44 Albert Street, Ventnor, received the sad news on Monday that her husband, L/Bdr. Richard Edgar Wood, R.A., aged 40, had died as the result of an accident early that morning at a Roman Catholic Church hall in Scotland at which he was billeted.
L/Bdr. Wood, a native of Hull, was a Regular Army man and had 21 years' service to his credit. His last visit to Ventnor was at Christmas. His widow is a daughter of Mrs. Holburd and the late Mr. T. Holburd, of Market Street, and she is left with two little boys, one aged four years and the other nearly two. Their earlier married life was spent at Seaview. Mrs. Wood will receive the sincere condolences of many friends in her tragic loss.
Arrangements were made to convey the body to Ventnor yesterday (Thursday), and it is expected that the funeral will take place at the Cemetery on Saturday.
