His biography on the college website states: ‘Joseph Charles Edward Mary John Reginald was born in London, the first son of Charles Edmund, gentleman. He was educated at Stonyhurst, and went up to Christ Church 1911-1912. He commenced Service 11 October 1914, 2nd Lieutenant 5th Bedfordshire Regiment, and was killed in a motorcycle accident on Thursday 18 February 1915. His brother John Edward Mary Claude Pius Augustine Waterton also fell in the War. Joseph is buried in Campton and Shefford Cemetery, Grave A 21.
