Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married to Winnifred and was a Reservist who was called up in September 1939. He was evacuated from Dunkirk and, whilst this was the only Calderdale memorial they found him named on, he is listed on the Athens Memorial. The exact date of his death was not known but was at sometime between the 27th and 30th April 1941 inclusive.
