Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was schooled in Scarborough, worked in Rochdale and trained as a pilot in Canada. His Wellington was lost off the coast of Burma and he not found to have been commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial: however, he is named on the Singapore Memorial.
