Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, with 3 children, and worked for a firm of butchers before the war. he went missing aboard HM Minesweeper Hussar and, whilst he was not found to have been commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial by Hornshaw and Fowler, he is named on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
