Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, with a child, and enlisted in 1935. He became a POW when captured by the Japanese in Malaya and was said by survivors to have been killed when a US submarine sank the transport Lisbon Maru. The date of his death was given as both the 12th and 15th of September and he is also commemorated on IWM 2224, 596 and the Singapore Memorial
