Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the details. He was born Albert Bloomer in Boothtown Halifax but was adopted by the Scholeys (George and Lilian). He was married, to Florence (from Cleethorpes), played the violin and enlisted in 1939. His niece, Cynthia Hollas, wrote to Hornshaw and Fowler saying he was lost over the North Sea flying a Stirling bomber back from a raid on Wilhelmshaven. He is also commemorated on IWM 2830, 2823 and 2825 as well as the Runnymede Memorial.
