Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the details. He was living in Leeds, married to Marjorie and working as a research chemist before he volunteered in September 1940. He trained as a pilot, was stationed at Moreton-in-the-Marsh but died flying as an Observer in a Wellington bomber on a ferry flight from Gibraltar to Malta. He is also commemorated on Runnymede Memorial.
