Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. An apprentice moulder at an iron founders, he enlisted in July 1914 despite being underage. He crossed to the Front in the October, was wounded in November, returned to his unit on 21st January 1915 but was killed just over a month later. He is also commemorated on the Menin Gate.
