Hornshaw and Fowler are the source of all extra detail on service, burial, etc. They give his date of death as the 21st not the 19th. He was the son of Ezra and Hannah, a clerk in the Halifax County Court for 6 years before enlisting in January 1917, being killed by shellfire. He is also commemorated on the St Matthew's, Northowram memorial (IWM 29427) and on the WW1 memorial at his school, Hipperholme Grammar (IWM 2822).
