Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details but give his age at death as 35. His parents were Cyrus and Emma and he was married, to Constance Carrie: they had a daughter. He was working for The Prudential in Brighouse but was a trained motor engineer who volunteered in 1940. He was employed as an instructor in Morecambe for a year before the transfer to India. He died of heart failure.
