Honrshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. The son of Joseph and Florence, of Luddendenfoot, Ledgard had worked for Hebble Motors before enlisting in September 1939. He was reported missing in Peshawar in February 1942, obviously captured. He is also commemorated on both this church's and the village WW2 memorials.
