According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Son of Major H H Roberts, of Westow Croft, Kirkham Abbey, York. Educated Wells House, Uppingham and Sandhurst. 2nd Bn The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Mortally wounded on 14th July he died at Netley Hampshire 20th July 1916 aged 20 years.
