According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Rupert was born 1880 in South Africa the son of George Henry Raw and Edith Sarah Taylor. Served in the Boer war and then became a stockbroker.
Later served with 8th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers and was killed at Gallipoli 7th August 1915 aged 35 years. He left a wife Winifred and son George Rupert.'
