According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Angus Maclachlan was born at Edinburgh on 14th August 1899, the son of Norman and Eliza Beatrice Maclachlan, of Ardmeallie, Banffshire. The 1911 census records him as a pupil at the Wells House, Malvern. He enrolled as a cadet in May 1912 and was killed in action 10th May 1918 aged 18 years when HMS Vindictive was deliberately sunk at Ostend'
