According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Educated Marlborough College. 1st Bn Wiltshire Regiment; died 3rd July 1915 two days after arriving at the front, aged 18 years. His father Ambrose was chairman and managing director of the Heal and Son department-store chain.'
