Notes
According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Thomas William Maddison Greenwell born June 26th 1896 at Louisville, Kentucky, America, was the son of Thomas Greenwell born 1849 and Mary Edmunds of Louisville, Kentucky; Thomas’s brothers John Maddison and Walter Nicholas Greenwell were born in Durham England in 1853 and 1861. At the age of 14 in 1911 Thomas had been a boarder at Wells House; later at Uppingham school. He served during WW1 as a Lieutenant of the 6th (Territorial) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, attached to the 17th Battalion Lancashire Regiment, in France and Belgium. He was killed in action on 19th July 1918 aged 22 years; possibly the last of his line.'
