Notes
Born in Carluke, Lanarkshire, on 25 February 1924, the 3rd son of William Angus, VC of Hayes, Middlesex, he was educated at Southall County School and attended Corpus as an RAF Probationer, studying Aeronautics so he took no Oxford University degree but did earn an Athletics Blue in 1943. He flew with Coastal Command and was based in Cyprus: the college list him as being killed in action on 30 May 1943 (when he would have been aged 19) but that seems unlikely given his academic history: the CWGC lists him as dying 2 years later. He is also listed on the Alamein memorial.
